The below viral is one of the first examples I have seen where this 'art' has been used to promote a product. Earlier this year, Talk Talk hired ex-pick pockets to start a crimewave around the country. But, In an interesting and economic-climate-specific twist, the pick pockets were tasked with placing money in people's bags and pockets unnoticed, demonstrating the money you will get back in your pocket should you move to them.

Crime does pay - 'Put Pocketing' Campaign from Talk Talk
Apart from in the movies, crime, overall, has got a pretty bad name. However, like graffiti, no matter how bad you know it is sometimes you can't help but admire the 'art' involved. For years, programs like 'Hustle' have fed on this intrigue by drawing you in to stories where modern day Robin Hoods deceive dastardly rich people with nothing but their exceptional cunning, planning and gutsy blagging.
